Due to Mark Bautista’s near-death experience that occurred in Seattle in June last year, during the run of the revolutionary musical ‘Here Lies Love’ by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim; where the former almost got hit by a stray bullet—it compelled him to write the book—‘Beyond the Mark’.
The reading material promises to shake his would-be readers as well as his fans with a ‘bomb-like’ revelation about himself and his never-before shared ventures in life.
According to an article from PEP.ph; the book contains Bautista’s journey from being a professional singer, to his love stories and his transitioning life to being a theater star in London and in Seattle.
In the book, which Mark or Mac-Mac (to many of his close friends); he personally penned his autobiography without having ghostwriters to do the trick as compared to many celebrities who published their books.
‘Friendshift’ chapter in his soon-to-be released book by VRJ Books; it detailed the singer-commercial model-and actor’s intimate encounter with another local actor that once created such a stir in the entertainment circle because of sexuality issues.
Though, in the said part, Bautista chose not to identify the name of the actor. The popular hunky actor was rumored to be his former intimate friend.
Mark’s break as Ferdinand Marcos in the ‘Here Lies Love’ has given him the chance to explore a life abroad and has allowed him to be more confident about who he really is as an individual. From being an amateur singing and oratorical contestant, he has crossed over to have expanded his audience and his craftmanship; today he is set to launch his book very soon.
Bautista placed first runner-up to Sarah Geronimo when he competed in the ‘Star for a Night’ in 2002. In 2004, when he signed a contract with ABS-CBN, he became a regular performer in ASAP and host of search for the ‘Star in a Million’ (first and second seasons) singing competition as well him becoming a Viva Artists Agency talent.
