The primetime slot, oftentimes dominated by ABS-CBN both on Mega Manila and Nationwide based on the ratings released by AGB Nielsen and Kantar Media.
TV5’s Claudine Barretto-starring drama “Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap” got off to a disappointing start, with only 1.8% ratings on Mega Manila – despite having “Dolce Amore” (which earned 22.8%) as a lead-in and “That’s My Amboy” on the second.
“Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap” was smashed by its rival “Dolce Amore” on it’s premiere telecast on February 1, and from then on, the show continued to register low ratings versus its counterpart on ABS-CBN and even on GMA Network. Given the low ratings and negative reviews especially on the bad acting of Diether Ocampo, it’s safe to say “Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap” will be taken out of the game sooner rather than later.
Directed by Joel Lamangan, “Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap” is an adaptation of the 1985 film written and directed by Danny Zialcita. The movie originally starred Laurice Guillen, Mark Gil, Tommy Abuel, Janice de Belen, and Chanda Romero. The show also served as Claudine’s comeback on primetime and her reunion project with Diether.
Based on what we heard from our source, the management have already decided to end “Bakit Manipis Ang Ulap” on April.
