On February 6, 2016 episode of “Eat Bulaga”, Tito Sotto temporarily leaves the noon time show to prepare for the official campaign period for the 2016 Philippine election which starts today, February 9, 2016.
Official candidates will strictly need to comply with the rules and regulations set by the Commission on Elections during the 90-day campaign period. Candidates who will fail to comply will received corresponding sanctions as mandated by the The Omnibus Election Code (OEC) of the Philippines.
In the last part of the Saturday episode of the longest running noontime show, Joey de Leon, Tito Sotto, and Allan K ended the show with a seemingly ‘important’ announcement. Joey de Leon started by saying “Tuloy ang pagibig sa Kalye-serye mga kaibigan. Pero itong si Tito, itong katabi ko, si pareng Tito Sotto, ibang kalye po ang tatahakin niya mga kaibigan…muna.” (“The love will continue in the ‘street soap opera’; but this person here, seated beside me, my good friend Tito Sotto will pursue a different ‘street’ for now.”)
Allan K. added, “Ito yung kalye na mas mahaba, mas malawak, mula Batanes hanggang sa Jolo.” (“This is a much longer street which spans from Batanes to Jolo.”).
Tito Sotto concluded the ‘heartfelt’ goodbye by saying, “Hindi, magpapaalam muna ako kasi ako sa inyo, panandalian lang, wala man ako dito sa Juan for All, All for Juan. Kasama niyo pa rin ako tatawa, iiyak, at iibig sa mga storya ng pagibig at ng buhay. Sabi nga ni Lola Nidora, tuloy pa rin, ibang kalye muna ang tatahakin ko. At sana po ay sa bawat hakbang ko ay makakasama ko pa rin kayong lahat. Salamat po sa Dabarkads, sa AlDub Nation, maraming salamat.” (“No, I will bid you goodbye temporary. Even if I am not here at ‘Juan for All, All for Juan’, I will still be with you laughing, crying, and falling in love in the story of love and life. As Lola Nidora has said, we’ll still continue; I will be taking a different street. And I wish that in my every step, you will still be there for me. Thank you Dabarkads, to AlDub Nation, thank you very much.”)
The almost teary eyed Eat Bulaga regular and Philippine senator re-electionist for 2016 Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III was approached by Jose Manalo as Lola Tinidora, Wall Bayola as Lola Nidora, ALDUB’s Alden Richards & Maine Mendoza, and other Eat Bulaga Dabarkads for a warm hug.
This is not the first time that Sen. Sotto temporarily left his hosting stint in “Eat Bulaga” to pursue his political career. Sen Sotto has also done this when he ran as a senator for his 2nd term back in 2007.
Sotto ran with a coalition backed by the Arroyo administration, but lost finishing only in the 19th place in the conclusion of the 2007 Senatorial election. Sotto was appointed in a government position by Arroyo and once again run for term in the 2010 senatorial election as a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition. That time, he succeeded and won his second term as a Philippine Senator. He will be running his third and last term as a Senator if ever he wins the 2016 Philippine national elections.
Support for the 2016′ Senatoriable’ poured in social media which only show the influence and effect of Eat Bulaga to Tito Sotto and vice versa. Will you be voting for Senator Tito Sotto this coming 2016 national elections?
