“GOLD: Glamorous, Opulent, and Luxurious Designs”, a graduation exhibit, will be open for viewing starting October 1-31
Five decades. That’s how long the Philippine School of Interior Design has been serving its students and clients in providing excellence in education an quality practice.
In a span of 50 years, the school has produced some of the finest interior designers in the industry and students who continuously top the board exams every year. To celebrate their legacy, PSID will launch “GOLD: Glamorous, Opulent, and Luxurious Designs,” a graduation exhibit that will showcase luxurious and glamorous designs that also celebrate comfort, functionality, opulence, and cost efficiency.
Co-presented by Megaworld, and mounted in cooperation with Boysen, Schema, Shell Canvas, La Europa, Designery, Daikin, and Tecson Flowers, the exhibit is set to showcase an array of 24 exquisitely-designed spaces that highlight the trends of the decades in which the school has offered design students quality training mixed with the aesthetic of luxury, opulence, and glamour.
Both Alumni and current students of the PSID collaborated to produce a gallery that’s like no other.
The Students Gallery will exhibit interiors conceptualized and constructed by the 72 pupils of PSID Advanced Class of 2017, as well as students from the PSID-AHLEN Institute. The graduating students will showcase design concepts that capture the essence of luxury, opulence, and glamour as finishes and materials take center stage to elicit an ambiance that caters to sophistication and sense of style.
Meanwhile, the Alumni Gallery is a “blast from the past” of sorts with already established PSID alumni such as Chitz Legaspi and Lalyn Nivera participating again in a graduation exhibit. It is a way for the alumni to relive the challenges and experiences of creating a booth for the graduation exhibit and apply what they have learned, both from the school and in the practice to evoke a sense of nostalgia.
In addition, PSID also put up a Faculty Gallery, where select professors and instructors of the PSID, namely Michael Pizarro, Mark Perez and Vianca Anonuevo, Gino and Karen Abrera, Jigs Adefuin, Mary Anne Bulanadi, and Chat Fores will also showcase their works to help commemorate the school’s anniversary.

Partners with Samsung “The Frame”
What better represent a classic institution than a retail giant? Samsung Philippines teamed up with the PSID to unveil their latest state-of-the-art television: The Frame TV.
It’s a perfect testament of the PSID’s golden years in the industry of interior design. Why? This TV breathes new life to home design, giving it a whole new purpose.
When it’s turned on, The Frame will showcase premium quality pictures. Meanwhile, while not in use, it can instantly transform into a piece of decoration in the house. It becomes a customizable work of art through its “Art Mode” feature, where users can display any artwork from the Samsung Collection, a built-in gallery of over 100 exclusive works by renowned global artists commissioned by the tech giant.
“Samsung constantly reimagines design by creating entirely new TV concepts that give our customers an experience like no other. We are honored to work with a group that commits blending art with functionality through technology and design solutions for the Filipino homes,” said Samsung Marketing Director Chad Sotelo.
The Frame will come with a wooden frame bezel that can easily be attached to the TV. It’s available in White, Walnut, and Beige Wood, to give it an extra painting-feel.
