The said event will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on September 17
29-year-old renowned singer-actress Sarah Geronimo will be performing for the first time on PLDT’s advocacy program ‘Gabay Guro,’ as a tribute to the outstanding Filipino teachers. On September 17, Sunday, the SM Mall of Asia Arena will be filled by an expected 20,000 attendees and guests.
The foundation is spearheaded by Chairman Chaye Cabal-Revilla and PLDT Brand Advocacy Head Gary Dujali. Those two are responsible for the annual execution of ‘Gabay Guro,’ which never fails to bring joy to their beneficiaries.
This year, lots of prizes await the lucky teachers who will grace the event. It was reported that Ayala Land will be giving away two house and lots while Foton will raffle out two cars. All the more reasons to be excited!
According to Gary, it was not easy to get Sarah to be available on their celebration. They were lucky enough to have the perfect timing as the actress has a clear schedule on that specific week.
“Parami nang parami every year ang performers. They support what we intend to do. It’s a little bit challenging because we wanted to show something new every time.
“Sarah said naman in the previous years. It’s just that parang may Palawan concert or conflict. This year, we talked to Boss Vic (del Rosario) and then her management. We just heard the news this week or yesterday na medyo bakante ang schedule niya.
“So we’re welcoming her as part of Gabay Guro performers this Sunday,” he shared.
Aside from the Popstar Princess, great music from Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Jaya, Michael Pangilinan, Jona Viray, Marian Rivera, South Border, Jay-R, Luke Mejares, and Medwin Merfil can be watched-out for this Sunday. The event will be hosted by Pops Fernandez, Andrew Wolfe, and Pia Wurtzbach.
