- Piolo Pascual is the newest ambassador of the Optical Media Board (OMB)
- The OMB is tasked with confiscating pirated entertainment content in the compact disc format.
Last Saturday made some sort of history as it was a head-on rivalry between two drama anthologies and two former Hunks members Diether Ocampo [for GMA 7 Magpakailanman] and Piolo Pascual [for Maalaala Mo Kaya on ABS-CBN].

Both episodes were meant intended for Father’s Day.
Piolo is the newest ambassador of the newest ambassador of the Optical Media Board [OMB], an organization against piracy in the local entertainment industry.
“It’s a privilege. It’s an opportunity to exercise your celebrity [status] and use it for the right reasons. It’s an advocacy na walang bayad. You belong to the cinema and entertainment industry, so best foot forward. And at the same time, you can use your influence to spread the cause. My role as an ambassador is to create awareness,” said Piolo.
As we all know, Piolo is not only an actor, but a movie producer as well. He clarified that there’s no truth to the rumor that he’d stop producing indie films because he’s not earning much from it. The last film that Piolo has produced from his Spring Films was Kita Kita which stars Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy which was an entry to the Osaka Film Festival.
“Contrary to rumors, kumita naman kami at nababawi ‘yung puhunan kahit hindi naipalabas ang pelikula sa commercial centers. I had to admit na may mga pelikula din naman na hindi kinagat ng masa, pero it’s not enough reason for me to stop producing fims. Naniniwala ako sa ganda ng mga pelikulang ginagawa natin at hindi tayo dapat nagpapadala sa results,” explains Piolo.
“The truth of the matter is, maraming gustong makipag-partner, maraming nag-i-invest, maraming magagandang istorya na kailangan gawin. As long as there are good stories that need to be told, hindi ako magwi-waver,” he added.
According to Piolo, they don’t necessarily rely on box office results alone to get their return of investments.
“May ibang paraan na puwedeng pagkakitaan ang mga pelikula na produced namin.”
During the interview, Piolo was also asked by some media men if it’s true that he’s had a tattoo on his behind.
One reporter claims that his tattoo on his behind is the first tattoo Piolo has made. Piolo said while laughing, “Saka ko na lang sasagutin ‘yan, baka matalakan ako ng nanay ko.”
But a photo of the Kapamilya actor was seen circulating while he’s getting his behind inked from a reputable tattoo artist. So without much confirmation, Piolo did have a tattoo done on his behind, but he just didn’t want his mom Amy to be worried or shocked.
