- Liza Soberano has emerged as Star Cinema’s pick to play the newest incarnation of “Darna” — perhaps the country’s most iconic superhero — in an upcoming film adaptation by Erik Matti.
- Liza Soberano is out to give her “more than 100 percent best” to prove that she is worthy of this project.
Getting ready to don the new persona of being the present “Darna,” Liza Soberano said that it is about time that she ventured herself to uncharted territory such as taking mature roles in the future.
The young actress did not disagree when she was asked if she would be willing to wear the famous red and gold bikini armor worn by the Pinay super heroine as her final costume choice. She said that she is ready to wear anything as long as she is prepared for it.
Liza also said that she is in fact, maturing. As she would become 20 next year. An indicator to transform not only herself but her roles as well.
She reports that she is undergoing training as preparation for being “Darna.”
“Ang training na ginagawa ko so far, nag-li-lift po ako ng weights para mag-gain ng muscle para maging malakas, also nag-ru-run po ako,” she said.
The actress remains being pressured to play the new generation Darna despite widespread public approval.
“You know that everyone’s watching you, so medyo kabado ako (I’m a bit nervous) on my part but I’m also confident that I will be able to succeed as a good role model to the younger generation,” she said in an interview.
