39-year-old former top model Angel Aquino bags the title role after all these years of playing supporting roles on movies. In “Amorosa: The Revenge,” Angel portrays the mother of two bright young actors, Enrique Gil and Martin del Rosario.
In the blog-con happened at Wangfu Chinese Café, Il Terrazzo on August 22, Angel shared her role and how she relate her role as she has two teenage daughters in real life.
“The role is very close to my heart. Kasi she’s a mom with two kids. Tapos ‘yung isa ailing din ang anak niya. So I thought I would go through it easily pero nung nandun ako, ang hirap-hirap lalo na when I have to make a choice. That was the most challenging for me.”
“During the accident when I need to make a choice. I said, ‘No! I can’t! I can’t make a choice.’ Hindi ko talaga kaya convincing our writers. Hindi ko talaga kaya so we have to change everything on that scene. So I thought it was easy but it proved to me the most challenging pala when someone that is very close to your persona. Parang ganun.”
How’s it working with the young generations of stars?
“Alam mo, narealise ko lang ‘yan when we started promoting na ang babata pala talaga ng mga kasama ko. Kasi you know when on set, we’re always talking and you know, ano lang kami, parang magkakavibes lang kami lahat kapag diinner, lunch, lagi lang kaming nagkekwentuhan. So nung tinatanong na ako, ‘How does it feels working with the young kids?’ They’re so young but on set kasi, everyone was so professional.”
“You know, these kids come from their own tapings, Princess and I, Pintada, minsan derecho na sila. Pero they always come on time. Kung malelate man sila, it’s because they come straight from those tapings and that’s all the way from Laguna or Tagaytay. But they deliver what’s expected on them at saka pinag-iisipan talaga nila ‘yung bawat eksena at ‘yung mga characters nila.”
Angel commends her co-stars in the movie.
“Makikita mo talaga like si Martin, ‘yung role niya kasi rito, ‘yung medyo mabubulag siya. So nagtatanong kasi talaga siya kung papaano at talagang nagpapractice siya on how niya ieexecute ‘yung action. So you know, you’ll really see the passion and commitment from everyone of these kids,” she added.
Together with Enrique Gil, Martin del Rosario, Empress Schuck, Carlo Aquino and Ejay Falcon, “Amorosa: The Revenge” is directed by Topel Lee and will premiere on August 29 in theaters nationwide!
