- Aiai delas Alas recalled her experience in showbiz in the past 3 years that made her and Mother Lily cry.
- During the victory party for her film “Our Mighty Yaya”, the 52-year-old comedienne couldn’t contain her tears as she was telling her bad experiences in life.
It could be remembered that she elaborated thesea experiences on her interview with entertainment site PEP.ph. She cited the death of her mom, her problem with her husband, the disappointing performance of her film under Star Cinema and the absence of television projects for her.
She said in front of the press, “Alam kong mali na tanungin ko o kuwestyunin ko si God. Pero, bakit nga ako? May nagawa ba akong matitinding kasalanan para parusahan?
“At itong nangyayari sa akin ngayon, ito pala ang sagot ng Diyos sa akin. Sinabi niya sa akin, ‘Maghintay ka lang anak…’”
The comedienne also revealed that she was planning to settle in the US because she though her showbiz career was over.
“At saka, nung time na ‘yon, kaya ako bumili ng bahay sa Amerika, dahil gusto ko na talagang mag-quit sa showbiz. Titira na lang ako sa US, kasama ang mga anak ko.
“Kasi feeling ko, wala na rin naman nagtitiwala sa akin dito sa Pilipinas. Pero, biglang-bigla, nakipag-meeting si ama (Kuya Boy Abunda, manager ni Ai Ai) sa APT (production company ni Mr. Tony Tuviera).”
She then recalled her ‘blessings’ she received after her struggles. Aiai elaborated, “Nag-sign ako ng kontrata sa GMA. Nagkaroon ng show. Nakasama ko si Bossing (Vic Sotto) sa pelikula at sa sitcom. Nagsunud-sunod ang biyaya.
“Tapos ngayon, nakatanggap ako ng mga awards sa iba’t ibang international film festivals para sa movie ko na Area. At ito na nga, kumita sa takilya ang Our Mighty Yaya.”
Moreover, Aiai thanked Regal Films putting their trust on her. She further said, “Sabi ko nga, hindi pala totoo na wala nang nagtitiwala sa akin. Nandiyan pa ang Regal Films, na naniniwala sa kakayahan ko.
“Kaya salamat talaga sa inyong lahat, sa Regal Films, kina Mother Lily at Roselle Monteverde, kay Ama (Boy), sa entertainment press, sa GMA na todo ang suporta sa akin, sa ABS-CBN na pinag-guest nila ako sa show ni Tito Boy.
“Salamat talaga sa Diyos…” Aiai said as she cried.
Mother Lily blurted out, “Oh my God!”
“Nasira ang make-up ko,” she added as she wiped her tears.
The Regal matriarch also quipped, “Ai Ai, thank you for making me rich again!”
Meanwhile, “Our Mighty Yaya” has grossed more than P35 million as of May 18, and is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
