Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid remains steadfast in his belief that love, trust, and mutual support will keep his relationship with Bianca Umali unbreakable, dismissing the notion of the so-called “7-year itch.”
In an interview, Ruru expressed that he does not believe in the popular theory, which suggests that couples may grow tired of each other or face relationship hurdles around their seventh year together.
“Personally, hindi ako naniniwala, kasi nakasulat na ‘yan eh. Kung para kayo sa isa’t isa, kayo talaga,” he stated confidently.
For Ruru, the key to overcoming any challenge is the commitment and love shared by both partners.
“Kahit sino pa ang pumigil, kahit ano pang klaseng tukso o pagsubok, basta nagtutulungan kaming dalawa, lahat kakayanin,” he added.
This 2025 marks Ruru and Bianca’s seventh anniversary as a couple—a milestone that has reignited discussions about the “7-year itch” after Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto confirmed their split after seven years together.
Despite the noise surrounding the term, Ruru remains optimistic and focused on his relationship, maintaining that they will continue to grow together.
On the professional front, Ruru is set to return as the titular hero in the much-awaited new season of ‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan’, promising bigger action scenes and more compelling drama.
The show, which headlines GMA Public Affairs’ ambitious 2025 lineup as part of the network’s 75th anniversary celebration, aims to captivate viewers with its upgraded storyline and production.
Coming off his 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Supporting Actor win for ‘Green Bones’, Ruru’s dynamic performance on the big screen is expected to carry over to his primetime series.
‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan’ premieres on January 20 and will air weeknights after 24 Oras on GMA Prime. It will also be available for international viewers via GMA Pinoy TV.
