Vice Ganda’s star power continues to shine as her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 entry, ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’, sold out in multiple cinemas on its opening day, December 25, 2024.
The comedian and actress shared her excitement on Facebook, expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans.
“SOLD OUT na sa ibang cinemas! Maraming maraming zenkyooow sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa #AndTheBreadwinnerIs! Magiging MEMErriest ang Pasko niyo dito,” Vice posted, thanking her fans for making the holiday season extra special with their ticket purchases.
Some of the theaters that quickly ran out of tickets include: SM Aura Premier, SM Mall of Asia, SM Sorsogon, SM Grand Central, SM San Jose Del Monte, Robinsons Antipolo, and SM Legazpi.
As expected, ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’ quickly became the top-grossing film of the festival, based on its pre-sales and early performance. Talent manager and columnist Ogie Diaz confirmed the film’s box office success, sharing that Vice’s movie was leading by a wide margin.
“According to my source, nangunguna ang movie ni Vice Ganda sa box office. Wala pa daw sa kalahati ng gross nito ang #2 nung opening day nito nung Pasko,” Ogie Diaz wrote on his social media account.

While And The Breadwinner Is… carries comedic elements, Vice Ganda emphasized that it offers a “different kind of comedy,” showcasing a more innovative approach to humor.
Other notable entries include: Green Bones, Isang Himala, Uninvited, The Kingdom, My Future You, Hold Me Close, Topakk, Espantaho, and Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital.

The MMFF 2024 is celebrating its 50th year with the theme ‘Sinesigla sa Singkwenta’, highlighting Filipino creativity and talent. The festival, organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), runs from December 25 to January 7, 2025.
