Singer Denise Julia has found herself at the center of controversy after renowned photographer BJ Pascual publicly shared his challenging experience working with her team.
The incident, which Pascual discussed on the podcast ‘Bad Btch Bible*’ hosted by Killa Kush, has since gone viral, sparking outrage and criticism across social media.
Pascual revealed that he took on a photoshoot project with Denise Julia despite hearing negative feedback about her in the industry. He claimed to have invested six figures out of pocket for the shoot, which was done pro bono for high-profile collaborators.
“I have heard so many bad things about her, so many bad things about her. So I guess, medyo kasalanan ko rin. I still took the job.”
However, just one day before the shoot—with a 6 a.m. call time already set—Denise Julia’s team canceled, citing a lack of confirmation. Pascual was taken aback, as he said the date had been insisted upon by the singer’s camp.
“Walang confirmation?! Excuse me?! Day before the shoot? At kayo ang nagpumilit to shoot on this day?!” Pascual remarked.
Despite the cancellation, Pascual proceeded with the shoot, featuring Sarah Lahbati as the new subject. He also noted that the photos will eventually be released to coincide with Denise Julia’s album drop.
