Project Red Ribbon Care Management Foundation, Inc. has started releasing its HIV and AIDS Ad Campaign Videos which started on May 1, 2017 and will end on May 21, 2017 on various social media channels and will be distributed to the Department of Health (DOH) offices, HIV testing facilities, local government units and non-government organization partners, companies, LGBTQI organizations, faith-based organizations, school and universities and HIV and AIDS Treatment Hub facilities.
This video series is the foundation’s educational campaign to raise awareness for the Philippine International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2017 (PIACM), a world-wide event held simultaneously on the third Sunday of May commemorated this year on the 21st of May with the theme of “Ending AIDS Together.”

“The purpose of the videos is to trigger human emotion among the general population and compassion towards people living with HIV and AIDS”, says Project Red Ribbon Vice President and Ad Campaign Director, Mr. David Fabros.
“This year, we focused on powerful stories and actual names of people with HIV and AIDS to capitalize on the challenges that they experienced which includes HIV stigma and discrimination, late HIV testing, late HIV treatment and life-threatening conditions related to HIV”, Fabros added.
The video campaign’s script was written by Mr. Ico Rodulfo Johnson, based on real stories as relayed by the Foundation’s Care Managers. All the technical team and the actors offered their talent and time pro bono.

In February 2017, (HARP) HIV/AIDS and ART Registry of the Philippines of the Department of Health, reported that there were 41,315 cases in the Philippines with 3,849 AIDS cases and 2,097 deaths, since 1984. There were 849 new HIV cases during the month alone. Reported modes of transmission were sexual contact, needle sharing among injecting drug users and mother-to-child transmission.
The regions with the most number of reported cases were: National Capital Region (NCR) with 310 (37%) cases, Region 4A with 129 (15%) cases, Region 3 with 102 (12%) cases, Region 7 with 79 (9%) cases, and Region 11 with 52 (6%) cases. An additional 177 cases (21%) came from the rest of the country.
