Kapuso star Elijah Alejo revealed she was a victim of a holdup while on her way to school for an early morning tree planting activity.
The young star shared the harrowing experience on TikTok, expressing gratitude for her safety despite the traumatic event.
Elijah recounted that she left home at dawn to attend the school event, which required a 5:30 a.m. call time. Due to her mother feeling unwell, she opted for a motorcycle taxi.
“Late ako nagising tapos masama pa ang pakiramdam ni mommy so nag-motor taxi ako. So supposedly, pagkarating namin doon sa campus doon ako magpapababa sa loob. Pero nagpapadagdag si kuya rider (ng bayad) kaya hindi na ako pumayag,” she explained.
After being dropped off at a sidewalk near her school, Elijah began walking toward the campus gate. It was then that an unidentified man approached her and threatened her with a sharp object, demanding her wallet.
“So doon niya ako pinababa sa side walk, hindi siya sa tapat ng gate ng campus namin nor sa gate ng hospital namin. Syempre nagbayad ako. Then kababayad ko, umalis kaagad na siya ako naglakad na ako papunta sa gate. Pero biglang may tumutok sa tagiliran ko and it’s something matulis. Sinabihan ako ibigay ko ‘yung wallet ko,” she shared.
In shock and unable to recall her self-defense training, Elijah complied with the assailant’s demand.
“Binigay ko na lang ‘yung wallet ko. Thank, God, I’m safe. Ang problem lang is walang CCTV sa area,” she added.
Elijah used her platform to warn others about the risks of commuting and walking alone, especially in the early hours of the day.
“Kaya everyone na naglalakad or kaya nagko-commute, stay safe everyone,” she urged her followers.
