GMA Network’s flagship primetime newscast, “24 Oras”, has surged to the top of the overall ratings chart, overtaking former leader “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FPJBQ).”
The latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey shows that “24 Oras” claimed the number 1 position as Filipinos tuned in for updates during Typhoon Kristine’s onslaught.
On Tuesday, October 22, “24 Oras” achieved a 15.7 percent rating, just edging out FPJBQ, which garnered 15.6 percent.
The next day, Wednesday, October 23, “24 Oras” soared to 17.9 percent as Typhoon Kristine unleashed its full impact, heavily affecting the Bicol Region and CALABARZON.
On Thursday, October 24, “24 Oras” continued its rise, securing an 18.1 percent rating, placing it 2.9 percent ahead of FPJBQ, which recorded 15.2 percent.
Meanwhile, at the start of the week, Monday, October 21, “24 Oras” was in second place with 15.7 percent, while FPJBQ led with a 16.0 percent rating.
