In a follow-up post on Threads on October 11, Gibbs clarified that his initial post was not made in jest. “My feed post of ‘Janno sa Senado’ was not a joke. I’ve been wanting to go into politics these past few years,” he explained. Gibbs also noted that he has been politically active on social media, often expressing his views on various issues.
However, he revealed that his family does not approve of his plans, fearing the potential consequences of entering politics. Despite their concerns, Gibbs appears to be considering a future in public service, stating, “Still, I was weighing my options. Seeing the circus of who are running, I didn’t want to be included in a ridiculous line up. Maybe in 2028?”
