Despite significant changes in the country’s TV landscape, ratings demographics appear to have remained largely unchaged.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey for September 11, 2024, ABS-CBN continues to dominate in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, while GMA Network maintains its stronghold in Mega Manila and Urban Luzon.
In Mega Manila, 24 Oras led the rankings with a rating of 17.2 percent, followed by a tie between Pulang Araw and FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FPJBQ), both earning 12.4 percent. Abot Kamay Na Pangarap (AKNP) came in third with 12.0 percent, while Family Feud placed fourth with 11.8 percent. Lilet Matias and Widows’ War tied for fifth at 11.5 percent, followed by Asawa Ng Asawa Ko at 10.2 percent. ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime and Lavender Fields rounded out the top 10 with 8.9 percent each.
In Urban Luzon, the results were similar, with GMA holding seven out of the top 10 spots. 24 Oras again took the top position with 16.1 percent, followed by FPJBQ with 12.0 percent. AKNP came in third with 11.8 percent, and Lilet Matias was fourth with 11.4 percent. Pulang Araw took fifth with 11.3 percent, followed by Family Feud at 11.1 percent. Widows’ War placed seventh with 11.0 percent, and ANAK came in eighth with 9.9 percent. It’s Showtime (8.0 percent) and Lavender Fields (7.9 percent) completed the list.
Interestingly, Urban Luzon ratings were slightly lower than Mega Manila, likely due to the higher concentration of viewers in the latter.
While GMA Network remains dominant in Mega Manila and Urban Luzon, ABS-CBN holds its ground in Visayas and Mindanao, despite the limited reach caused by the non-renewal of its franchise. With its shows airing through partner platforms like TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya Channel, ABS-CBN continues to capture strong viewership in these regions.
In the Visayas, ABS-CBN’s FPJBQ topped the charts with a rating of 21.8 percent, followed by Lavender Fields with 15.0 percent. Pamilya Sagrado placed third with 8.6 percent, while GMA’s 24 Oras came in fourth with 8.4 percent. AKNP and Lilet Matias took the fifth and sixth spots with 6.8 percent and 6.5 percent, respectively. TV5’s Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa entered the rankings at number seven with 6.4 percent. Pulang Araw, Family Feud, and Widows’ War rounded out the top 10 with ratings between 6.1 and 6.3 percent.
In Mindanao, FPJBQ posted its highest rating across all demographics at 24.7 percent. Lavender Fields followed with 16.3 percent, while 24 Oras ranked third with 11.1 percent. Tied for fourth were Pamilya Sagrado and Pulang Araw with 8.2 percent each. Lilet Matias placed sixth with 7.0 percent, surpassing AKNP, which came in tenth with 6.1 percent. TV5’s Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa ranked seventh with 6.8 percent, while Family Feud and Widows’ War claimed the eighth and ninth spots with 6.5 and 6.4 percent, respectively.
