Merril Yu, CIC’s Chief Experience Officer, opened day two of the event with a speech on the 2025 Philippine Hospitality Outlook, emphasizing the importance of anticipating future trends and the evolving needs of travelers. Yu also shared his insights on the evolving landscape of guest experience as part of a panel discussion.
“All our businesses are looking at what’s next. This event is an opportunity to give you different points of view, and more importantly, think, ‘What should I consider for me, my business, and what’s next?’” Yu shared. His opening remarks resonated with attendees, prompting discussions about factors affecting the future of hospitality in the Philippines.
Phillip Trapaga, President of Concepcion-Carrier Air Conditioning Company, a subsidiary of CIC, presented on an “Insider’s Guidance to Winning Air Conditioning Management,” providing attendees with practical strategies to optimize HVAC systems for enhanced guest comfort, consumer preferences, and energy efficiency.
“Consumers are changing. Now, they start asking questions such as, ‘Can you make the air conditioner blend into our home?’ You see a different kind of consumer emerging—they want slimmer designs, electronic controls, and of course, energy efficiency,” Trapaga said.
