It started out with an open letter addressed to Kapuso star Alden Richards from Rafael Vicente Calinisan’s post in Facebook.
Calinisan shared that his beloved grandmother, Catalina L. de Ramos, who he calls “Nana”, will turn 97 years old on her birthday, April 30. Sadly, a few hours before her birthday, she got rushed to the hospital due to her blood pressure that shot up to 200.
According to the grandchild, his “Nana” loves watching her favorite star, Alden on TV.
Surprise visitor
As a birthday surprise, Calinisan asked for Alden to visit his grandmother in the hospital. The open letter became viral and it eventually reached the camp of the actor.
Alden came the next day and surprised “Nana” and their family. It’s evident in the photos that the old lady is very happy to see him.
He even gave her a signed copy of his book!
Calinisan was very thankful for the kind gesture of Alden. It sure meant a lot to “Nana”. In his follow-up post, he said that they were all overwhelmed by the visit and that he is now a fan!
He expressed his gratitude for Alden, Maine Mendoza, and all of the AlDub nation for putting this smile on “Nana”.
