Chloe San Jose, the girlfriend of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, is standing her ground amidst ongoing criticisms and social media bashing, describing herself as “authentic” despite the negativity thrown her way.
The content creator, who has faced increasing online scrutiny, especially regarding her relationship with Yulo, opened up about her struggles in a recent interview with Luis Manzano on his YouTube show Luis Listens.
San Jose admitted that it has been difficult to stay true to herself while under constant public scrutiny. “Parang ang hirap po pala na ano rin kayo, parang naka-cut in the middle kung…do I stay authentic or do I please the people na nagsasabi ng ano…” she shared. “So, ang hirap po pala but of course, I stayed true to myself and stayed authentic because that’s who I am.”
Chloe has been under fire from netizens who blame her for the strained relationship between Carlos Yulo and his family. According to rumors circulating online, Yulo’s parents are not in favor of their relationship, with some speculating that the gymnast has chosen his girlfriend over his family. Chloe, however, remains focused on the positives, expressing gratitude for the support she has received from fans who continue to encourage her and Carlos to stick together despite the challenges.
Many of Chloe’s supporters praise her strength and authenticity. “Like, ‘Thank you Ate for being an inspiration na maging strong and maging totoo sa sarili and really fighting for what you want po,'” Chloe shared during the interview. “And that really touches me po. Kasi nalaman ko na may nai-inspire pala ako na ipaglaban ang sarili nila.”
