Amid speculation that he was avoiding the public eye, Chan took to Instagram to share a photo of himself smiling while holding a dish from his restaurant.
Though Chan did not directly comment on the legal and financial issues surrounding Cafe Claus, his Instagram caption appeared to reflect his determination to fight for his business.

The vague statement has sparked concerns that Chan may be closing the restaurant to address the issues at hand. Diaz reported that Chan is currently facing a legal case involving syndicated estafa. The case, filed under Article 315, Paragraph 2 (A) of the Revised Penal Code, accuses Chan of mishandling investments.
The controversy allegedly involves Chan’s business partner, who has since parted ways with the restaurant. There are suggestions that this individual may also be connected to the financial problems faced by Cafe Claus. Diaz also speculated whether Chan’s recent departure from a TV series was linked to the legal troubles, although Chan has yet to issue a formal response regarding the situation.
