Award-winning artist and producer Ben Böhmer delivers his latest single, “Faithless” featuring Erin LeCount. The track continues the lead-up to Böhmer’s third studio album, ‘Bloom’, arriving September 27 via Ninja Tune.
“Faithless” is perhaps the most stark departure from the melodic house/techno music that has become Ben’s signature sound over his career, cemented by the success of his previous albums (nearly 1 billion streams). Despite the success, Ben has always identified most as a composer and songwriter, which comes through clearly in this new collaboration with Erin LeCount, taking Ben’s sound even further into the indie and pop realms.
“Faithless” features a breathtaking performance from LeCount alongside Ben’s immersive production, which calls upon woozy halftime percussion and soaring, atmospheric pads.
Erin LeCount is the next breakthrough artist from the UK, becoming well-known for her stirring lyrics, starry-eyed vocals, and cinematic compositions as a writer & producer. Her music has been called “stellar” by Wonderland Magazine and “beautifully poignant” by Clash. Speaking on the brand new single, Erin says that “‘Faithless’ really came together in a case of divine timing – I was in the right place at the right time when I heard the instrumental, and Ben’s production is such a beautiful soundscape that it was so natural to write for. I wrote the lyrics about a cycle of self-sabotage in wanting to love someone and then leaving the minute things get good – reminiscing and regretting it every time but being unable to stay anywhere too long.”
“Faithless” follows the previously released “Rust”, the Pitchfork-supported “Hiding” (a collaboration with award-winning dream pop icon Lykke Li), and the lead single “Best Life”, with one of Ben’s favorite collaborators, JONAH, earlier this year.
Ben is fresh off several major performances, including festivals such as Lollapalooza, Sonar by Night and Electric Forest, and serving as direct support for ODESZA at The Gorge, BMO Stadium, and Madison Square Garden. Looking ahead, he’ll round out his North American tour with a stop at Portola before embarking on an Australian tour, on track to sell out across the continent, where he’ll perform in music halls across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne (currently sold out). Then, he’ll head back to Europe for a string of massive fall shows (46k capacity total), including a stop at the Great Hall of Alexandra Palace.
Ben’s music and live performances have earned him widespread acclaim from fans and tastemakers alike. In 2023, he completed the biggest-ever North American live touring run and while reaching 3 million monthly Spotify listeners. His Cercle set has surpassed 33 million views and is now one of the top 10 most viewed electronic music sets of all time on YouTube. He’s shared festival stage bills with the likes of Caribou, Four Tet, Bicep, Jamie xx, and Amelie Lens, and in 2022, launched Portraet, his four-night residency at the open-air Ibiza club Cova Santa, enlisting Barry Can’t Swim, HAAi, Sofia Kourtesis and more to play alongside him.
