Angelica Yulo, mother of Filipino Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo, has placed their family home in Imus, Cavite, up for sale, marking another chapter in the ongoing family feud.
The house, purchased in 2016, became a focal point of their publicized dispute, with Angelica accused of using Carlos’ money to pay for it without his consent.
Angelica announced the sale through her Facebook page, offering the fully furnished property, which has a 50-square-meter lot area and a 100-square-meter floor area. The home comes with various amenities, including a 55-inch television, a refrigerator, a split-type air conditioner, a window-type air conditioner, and motor accessories valued at PHP 300,000.
In earlier interviews, Angelica defended herself against allegations from Carlos, who accused her of stealing his money. The gymnast, who secured two gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, claimed that his mother used his funds without permission to pay for the property.
Angelica explained that she accessed Carlos’ Landbank account, which she managed, to pay off the house. She justified the use of the funds to avoid accruing interest on the mortgage and to renovate the house, hoping it would provide a comfortable space for Carlos when he returned home. She stressed that Carlos was aware of the situation, as his sister also knew about the payments, and insisted she had no malicious intent in using the money.
“Hindi ko nilustay yung pera niya. Hindi ko ninakaw yung pera niya. Ayan, puwede niyang ibenta kung gusto niya. Ibalik lang niya yung dinown namin saka yung binayad namin since 2016 up to 2019,” Angelica stated.
The controversy surrounding the house has become one of the key issues in the Yulo family’s strained relationship, which escalated publicly in recent months. The family dispute gained further attention when Carlos referred to his mother as a “thief,” fueling widespread media coverage.
Adding to the emotional strain, Carlos’ father, Mark Andrew Yulo, is reportedly considering selling a motorcycle gifted to him by his son, allegedly to return the money to Carlos. However, no reports indicate that Carlos has asked his father to return the gift.
