This new development follows the success of DonBelle’s latest project, the drama-romance series ‘Can’t Buy Me Love,’ which concluded in May. The series, which featured a star-studded cast including Rowell Santiago, Agot Isidro, Ina Raymundo, Ruffa Gutierrez, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, Kaila Estrada, Albie Casiño, and Darren Espanto, was a significant hit. It debuted to an impressive 454,413 concurrent live viewers on YouTube and quickly rose to become the No. 1 most-watched series on Netflix Philippines.
According to Kantar Media, ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ garnered a strong television rating of 11.6 percent, surpassing its competitor ‘Love Before Sunrise,’ which earned 9.7 percent. AGB Nielsen also reported that the show’s pilot episode achieved an 8 percent rating, outperforming its rival’s 7.1 percent.
In past interviews, Pangilinan and Mariano have emphasized their commitment to delivering quality work without fixating on whether it will be an instant hit. “When you start a project, you don’t know if it’s going to be a hit, if people will really watch it, if they’ll support it. So, we were really nervous, a bit of pressure. We were just hoping for the best,” Pangilinan shared.
Mariano echoed these sentiments, saying, “There’s this sense of fulfillment, like, wow, we were able to deliver a project.”
With this latest tease, fans of DonBelle are on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the details of their next collaboration.
