The Kapamilya action-drama series only replicates its massive success on television, with record-breaking concurrent views, online.
18 months into ruling local television, Coco Martin’s FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ remains unstoppable. The series already outlived 5 rival Kapuso shows (Maria Clara at Ibarra, Voltes V Legacy, Mga Lihim Ni Urduja, Maging Sino Ka Man, Black Rider), since debuting on Primetime Bida, in February, 2023. The action-drama series have consistently devoured competition, keeping significantly large margins in the ratings game, over its rivals.
As it lords Philippine television as the number one TV show, according to data provided by Nielsen Philippines, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’s unquestionable supremacy is also reflected in ita record-breaking feats on YouTube and Facebook. Currently the only TV show, which regularly soars above half a million concurrent viewers, nightly, the Coco Martin-starrer, completely butchers rival shows, with live concurrent viewership that gets usually tenfold to twentyfold of what its rival show gets.
After obliterating the record set by the finale set by FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in 2022, Batang Quiapo, went on to set more milestones, breaking its own record, one episode after another. Last night, August 7, the series surged into a record-breaking peak concurrent viewers, anew, almost breaching the 700k mark, from combined viewers on Facebook and YouTube.
Instrumental to this surge, are the recent and current developments in the series’ fascinating and addictive storyline. With Bubbles (Ivana Alawi) gone, the plot now focuses to Tanggol (Coco Martin)’s new life as one of Don Facundo Caballero’s (Jaime Fabregas) hitmen. The story also progresses with Tindeng (Charo Santos-Concio) reporting Rigor (John Estrada)’s misdeeds at the police station.
But will the case she files, move forward? The way the police chief warned Rigor seems enough an indication that it won’t.
