Marian Rivera’s first foray into the Cinemalaya film festival with her movie ‘Balota’ has been a resounding success, with numerous screenings selling out almost immediately.
The film, directed by Kip Oebanda, premiered yesterday and quickly became a box office hit. Major theater locations, including Greenbelt, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and UP Town Center, had to add extra screenings to meet the overwhelming demand from audiences.
In addition to its box office triumph, ‘Balota’ has received glowing reviews from viewers. Social media is abuzz with praise for Rivera’s performance.
Watched #Balota last night with my forever college seatmate / thesis mate. Waited for a movie like this from Marian Rivera since 2007! Tang*na, ang galing! Definitely worth taking a 17-hour flight from NYC ☺️ #CinemalayaXX #Cinemalaya2024 pic.twitter.com/BLBUujc9p8
