The new Kapamilya action-drama soared past 550,000 live viewers, for the first time, on YouTube alone.
Coco Martin continues to lord local television, as FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, remains the overall no.1 weekday TV show, in the country. Based on Nielsen Philippines data, the action drama is well ahead of its Kapuso counterpart, Black Rider, both in the total and aggregated ratings battle. On July 3, for example, Batang Quiapo pulled off a 17.0 people rating, versus Black Rider‘s measly 9.9 (without delayed telecast). Notably, the Ruru Madrid-starrer has only only won the same-timeslot twice, since it debuted on primetime, 8 months ago.
But television isn’t the only empire that Batang Quiapo currently rules. Online, the series practically slaughters rival shows, in terms of online concurrent viewers, or the viewers of the show simultaneously watching the series on their electronic gadgets. Since last week, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, has consistenly logged at least a nightly combined 500,000 live concurrent viewers on YouTube and Facebook. The series notably logged new lifetime records on Thursday, June 27 (516.9k), on Friday, June 28 (523.2k), and on Tuesday, July 2 (550.5k). The series also kept its half-a-million concurrent viewers streak, from June 27 to last night, July 8.
On YouTube, alone, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, soared for the first time, above 550,000 live viewers, effectively obliterating the record set by the finale episode of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on August 12, 2022. That episode attracted 536,500 live viewers on YouTube alone, and another 48,000 on Facebook.
Titled ‘Panabla’, the July 8 episode is yet just a simmering phase for more chaotic confrontations that are imminent, in the wake of Pablo Caballero’s (Elijah Canlas), sudden death. What is yet to come is undoubtedly capable of pushing Batang Quipao’s live concurrent viewership to new milestones.
