The recent cancellation of the noontime show ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ has evidently taken a toll on TV host and actor Paolo Contis, as reports reveal he was visibly emotional backstage.
During ‘Cristy Ferminute’ on Tuesday, March 5, showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin disclosed insider information suggesting that Paolo Contis rushed to his dressing room and broke down in tears upon learning about the show’s cancellation.
Sources within the GMA Network reportedly informed Fermin that Contis was hesitant to be seen crying in public, possibly concerned about potential backlash due to his past outspokenness.
Baka ngayon ‘pag nakita ako lalo akong i-bash.’ ‘Yon siguro ang nasa isip niya, ‘no?”
Fermin’s co-host, Romel Chika, echoed this sentiment, suggesting that Contis, known for his candid remarks, may have been apprehensive about public perception.
It appears that Contis’ previous remarks, particularly in light of recent controversies surrounding the show, may have made him susceptible to criticism.
Fermin expressed sympathy for Contis, acknowledging the challenges he faced as a prominent figure associated with the program.
This incident follows rumors of the show’s cancellation, which began circulating on Saturday, March 2. The subdued demeanor of the hosts during the show’s final episodes hinted at the impending end.
Despite these reports, Contis has yet to publicly address his departure from ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ according to showbiz insider Ogie Diaz.
The cancellation of the show marks the end of an era for both the production team and its audience, leaving many to reflect on its impact on Philippine daytime television.
