In an exclusive interview with entertainment personality Ogie Diaz, actor Diego Loyzaga opened up about the recent controversy surrounding his relationship with the mother of his child, Alexis Suapengco.
Loyzaga disclosed that he and Suapengco have successfully resolved their differences and have agreed to co-parent their daughter, Hailey, following Suapengco’s public outcry on social media alleging mistreatment by Loyzaga.
During the interview, Loyzaga candidly acknowledged his shortcomings in the relationship, admitting to breaking certain rules multiple times. He expressed understanding of Suapengco’s emotions and emphasized his commitment to rectifying his mistakes and fostering a positive co-parenting dynamic for the sake of their child.
“May mali naman talaga kasi ako, meron siyang sinet na rule, I broke that rule and not only once siguro twice or three times pa. Can you blame the woman for having emotions and reacting out of her emotions, no! Nagkamali ako, eh. Lesson I learned is well, keep your promises that’s number one. I should have kept my promise and I will always be understanding of Lex, she’s the mother of my child,” Diego explained.
“Being a father is one of the things I have to sustain, I have to keep the bar high be a good example kung baga,” the actor added.
Additionally, Loyzaga shared his aspirations for Hailey’s upbringing, expressing a desire for her to embrace her Filipino roots before potentially pursuing educational opportunities abroad. Drawing from his own experiences of cultural adjustment, Loyzaga underscored the importance of instilling a strong sense of Filipino identity in his daughter.
