Recently surged in popularity due to its delightful and comic tandem with Maris Racal’s Irene Tiu, Snoop has allowed Jennings to further reach household and mainstream audience and introduce his enormous talent and charm.
Anthony Jennings continues to track his ascent in show business. Still relishing in the massive popularity of his character, Snoop, in the currently airing primetime series, Can’t Buy Me Love, Jennings proves his mettle in taking on various roles, shifting from his previous serious drama actor stints to the comic and loud character, Snoop, with ease.
During one of our visits to the show’s set locations in Binondo, last December 4, 2023, Jennings had the chance of expressing his gratitude to his supporters, but at the same time explain the inspiration behind his delightfully humorous take on Snoop. Snoop, as a character, seems to be written from the get-go to generate chuckles and charm, but without an effective actor like Jennings, it seems impossible to work.
“Oo. Pero kasi before sinabi sa akin ni Direk na wag na wag raw akong magpapatawa, just stay in tact with your character. Ganon ‘yung ginagawa ko” he said, explaining whether Snoop’s comic persona is inspired by his own.
“Actually, ‘yung boses ko, ‘yung high-pitched na ‘ano ba naman ‘yan, Boy’? Pinepeke ko lang ‘yun. Fake lang talaga siya , pero ginagamit ko siya para sa character”, he went on, sharing his techniques to make his portrayal look more genuine.

“Marami na akong ginawang character na ‘yung boses malalim, diretso ‘yung salita. Ngayon, medyo nilagyan ko ng konting […]. Si Snoop kasi lagi siyang kabado, praning siya, but at the same time mabait…” he added.
Prior to joining to the Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano-topbilled, Can’t Buy Me Love, Jennings previously appeared on another Star Creatives drama, The Iron Heart.
