On January 30, director Angelo Carpio highlighted the action scenes they have planned for their upcoming movie ‘Kampilan, The Untold Story of Kalip Pulaka’.
At the movie launch of ‘Kampilan, The Untold Story of Kalip Pulaka’, which LionhearTV covered, Carpio noted how their action sequences planned for the upcoming Sultanate Films International movie got inspiration from the Turkish historical fiction series Ertuğrul.
“Kung alam ninyo ‘yung phenomenal hit ngayon na Ertugrul, it’s a Turkish series na the founder of the Ottoman empire, nagkaroon sila ng series ngayon na tungkol sa Turkish man. At na-inspire kami na gumawa ng ganong palabas.”
He also emphasized the quality of their costume and set design for ‘Kampilan, The Untold Story of Kalip Pulaka’.
“At yes, mas maganda dahil pansin ninyo, ‘ yung mga kasuotan ng mga mandirigmang Pilipino, namulat kasi tayo sa contemporary history. What we have is ‘yung mga nakasalakot at nakatabak, ‘yun ang mga bayani natin, the Katipuneros.
“Pero kung aatras pa tayo, mayroon tayong matibay na sultanato sa Timog. Isang Sultan na may army siya, may mga kawal siya. At lahat ito, nakasuot ng mga pandigmang mga sandata, na inspired by the Ottoman.”
He then assured moviegoers that they would provide action-packed sequences for their upcoming movie.
“So, mas babalik tayo sa kasaysayan at masasabi ko na mas makulay, mas maganda, mas epiko, pagdating sa mga eksena na pandigma, maaasahan ninyo kami kahit paano.”
Aside from ‘Kampilan, The Untold Story of Kalip Pulaka’, Carpio also recounted his dream movie project about Sultan Kudarat.
“Honestly, my dream project– it still is Sultan Kudarap. The right work for now is a challenging project because it was the first hero.”
‘Kampilan, The Untold Story of Kalip Pulaka’ is currently under the script-development process, but they hope to have the film shown as an educational movie, citing the untold story of Lapu-Lapu.
Present during the launch of ‘Kampilan, The Untold Story of Kalip Pulaka’ are Director Angelo Carpio, Director Cosanie Derogongan, Sultan Bob Datimbang, and Sheikh Abdul Razzaq Siddiq.
