On February 12, Vanessa Matsunaga went to Erich Gonzales’ Instagram account to ask the actress to clear up their family’s name from an issue over money, which was rumored to be the cause of her split Daniel Matsunaga.
Moments before Erich turned off comment activities on her Instagram, entertainment site PEP quickly took a screenshot of Vanessa’s statement.
In the comment section, Vanessa said she was asked by her brother Daniel “to keep quiet and not fight back or even reply to any comments.”
Vanessa admitted that she couldn’t keep quiet because people are invading their family’s privacy and asking if they owe money from Erich.
“I know you answered the interview with the best of your ability, I understand it’s hard to answer too many questions but I honestly wish you had addressed the money issue,” she commented.
Vanessa acknowledged that Daniel and Erich do not owe anyone any explanation, yet she encouraged the actress to “look back at the good times.”
“Remember, you were with us for two years, you were included in every family plan, trips (and) weddings. We took care of you and your family and took in consideration your preferences and watched over you,” she wrote.
Vanessa however clarified that she was not commenting on Erich’s Instagram photo to measure what they did for Erich and vice versa.
“All I’m saying is I’m very sad to see people defaming not only you and my brother but also my mom and family.”
Daniel’s sister further wrote that her mom doesn’t deserve the event that was happening to their family. She then confessed that they were still defending Erich from all the hate as much as they can.
She also accepted the fact that Erich to unfollow them, and said it was the choice of the actress.
She ended her comment by saying, “I’m asking you to please address the (money) issue, people are calling us users, but you know best and you know the truth. I’m counting on your integrity and your love for our Lord Jesus. Isabella misses you! We will always be here for you.”

It will be remembered that Erich immediately denied that there was a third party involved in her break-up with Daniel.
However, when Erich was asked if “financial problem” was the reason of their break-up, the actress answered, “Tungkol sa pera, ayoko nang magdetalye tungkol d’yan because just like what I’ve said, I just want to move on.”
It was followed by another interview by Daniel, denying the “money issue” was the cause of their split.
On her Instagram account, Vanessa addressed one of the netizens who accused her family of taking advantage from Erich.
“Well, we don’t need Erich’s money,” she said.
“Her family needs her support. I’m sure you understand that very well.”
Vanessa said her brother has integrity and that he has worked hard for everything he has since he was 16 year old even though he did not have to.
She also emphasized that their family “are in better position” compared to Erich’s.
On February 13, Erich responded to Vanessa’s lengthy post via private message to ABS-CBN News’ Marie Lozano, emphasizing that what happened in her relationship with Daniel is just between the two of them.
“Gusto ko na po sana’ng manahimik na lang at mag-move on na pero sila ‘yung comment nang comment sa social media. Social media is not the proper venue. I turned off the comment section of my Instagram account kasi pagpipyestahan lang ng mga tao, lalong hahaba at hindi matatapos,” she said.
She also addressed the issue about money by saying “Hindi ako mayaman, Vanessa; tama ka. Mahirap lang ako; hindi ako kasing yaman ng napangasawa mo. Pero sa mundong ito, ang reyalidad, hindi lang mayayaman ang nagte-take advantage. Mas maraming mahirap ang napagsasamantalahan.”
Gonzales said she didn’t really want to give details about her break-up with Daniel anymore but she is being provoked.
“They want me to speak up? I will. I will tell all,” she added.
The two were together since 2015. On February 9, Erich confirmed that she and Daniel were no longer a couple.
