Film director and well-known Uniteam supporter Darryl Yap took to social media to criticize Malacañang for utilizing the Presidential Chopper for the Coldplay concert in Bulacan.
On Saturday, January 20, the director of “Maid in Malacañang” strongly opposed the statement released by the Presidential Security Group, which sought to justify President Marcos Jr.’s use of the government helicopter to attend the Coldplay concert held on Friday, January 19, at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
Yap questioned Marcos’ choice to travel via the Presidential Chopper and raised concerns about the concert’s relevance to the welfare of the country.
He suggested that if the primary concern was security, prompting the use of the helicopter, then it would have been more appropriate for the President to remain in Malacañang rather than attend the concert.
“Bakit? para sa kapakanan ba ng bansa yung concert ng COLDPLAY? HAHAHA! ANG BEST SECURITY MEASURE AY WAG SIYA PUMUNTA. AT DI NA LANG SANA KAYO NAGSTATEMENT HAHAHAH!”

In their statement, the PSG argued that due to heavy traffic leading to the concert venue, which could pose a potential threat to the country’s leader, they took decisive action to allow Marcos Jr. to use the presidential chopper.
Meanwhile, besides Yap, numerous other netizens also criticized Marcos for his actions, claiming that he prioritizes leisure over addressing the country’s pressing problems.
“all the effort of coldplay and their team in promoting sustainability while on tour, finding a way to make that work here in the philippines, only for this asshole to fly in a chopper probably funded by… take a wild guess!” @strawbearrybum shared.
