On January 21, member of 4th Impact Irene Cercado emotionally addressed the bashers who told them to stop pursuing their music careers.
At the media event for the launch of their self-titled album, which LionhearTV covered, Irene remarked that their group plans to continue their career path and inspire people to persevere.
“Kahit ang dami naming bashers na ang sabi, mag-DH na lang daw po kami or mag-caregiver na lang po kami. Sa lahat po ng nagsasabi niyan, hindi po kami titigil, kasi naniniwala po kami na si Lord, binigyan po nila kami ng talent na ‘to, kasi para maka-inspire ng kabataan at ng mga tao na kaya natin umangat basta mag-pursige lang tayo at maniwala tayo kay Lord.”
As for 4th Impact, sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina Cercado recently decided to depart from their previous management and became independent artists.
Irene detailed the struggles and adversities they faced as self-managed music artists.
“Siyempre hindi po talaga madaling maging independent artists especially po kung napanood ninyo po, when you see the music video that we did in LA, sobrang hirap po kasi. Sa US, mahal, so lahat po ng mga–‘yung mga kotse ko po nabenta ko, ‘yung talagang pinag-pursigehan po talaga namin, we invested in ourselves.”
However, she felt proud of their achievements, especially in producing and directing their music video for Distorted.
“We were so proud that we produced it, and we directed it and feeling ko sa 12 years na nandito po kami sa industry, we learned a lot of things and I think we are in the position na kami na po ‘yung mag-take over sa careers namin. Pero we’re still open na alam mo ‘yun, kung si Lord magbibigay pa rin po ng manager po na talagang mag-pu-push po sa amin, why not?”
As for their self-titled album, 4th Impact collaborated with the Hungarian music producer Miklos Malek, who previously worked with Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, and other international artists to produce the music on their extended playlist available through Spotify.
They also partnered with Grammy-nominated songwriter Rachel West and Greek musician NicoTheOwl in creating their songs Distorted, Round and Round, All at Once, February, and Hate That Girl.
4th Impact gained international recognition after participating in the British reality TV show The X-Factor (2015.)
