On December 18, Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards highlighted what he learned from losing money in investment scams.
During his Thanksgiving Party, which LionhearTV attended, Richards noted how too-good-to-be-true investment scams became prevalent during the pandemic.
“Wala pong tangible asset doon or thing na nakikita. More on investment, parang siyempre, money investment, stock market, cryptocurrency, mga ganon po. Doon po tayo medyo naano kasi since the pandemic naman po, ‘yun ‘yung naging ways, and sobrang na-hype siya during that time, kasi too good to be true ‘yung kita pero nangyayari. Pero high gain, high loss po kasi siya eh.”
He then emphasized what he learned from his experience, cautioning him from taking on too-good-to-be-true schemes.
“Ah wala na po, parang number one, kung too good to be true, mag-isip na po kayo. Hindi–wala pong ganong klaseng scheme or hindi po totoong nangyayari ‘yung mga too good to be true na magpasok ka ng pera, ‘yung thousand pesos mo, magiging ten thousand in seven days.”
He also cited the value of knowledge of having money when investing in businesses.
“At the end of the day, hindi po ‘yung dami ng pera sa bank account ang ikaka-success ninyo, kung di sa dami ng alam ninyo. So it’s better to have more knowledge, than money, kasi ‘yung money susunod na lang siya eh. Pero, kung wala kang alam, coming from experience po, medyo nauna ‘yung pera bago ‘yung knowledge, so medyo naloko po tayo ng naloko.”
