During a media conference for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 movie ‘Family of Two’ on December 3, Alden Richards refrained from commenting on the breakup of his former on-screen partners, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
Responding to questions about his opinion on the KathNiel split, Alden chose not to engage, expressing apprehension about getting involved in a potentially heated discussion and facing backlash, “Medyo mainit po ‘yung topic baka masali po ako ulit, baka ako po yung ma-bash.”
Alden conveyed his desire to avoid controversies and, consequently, prefers to maintain a low profile on such issues.
When asked about the prospect of being paired with Kathryn in the future, Alden emphasized his respect for them and suggested that they deserve space.
“Respeto ko nalang po sa kanila. I’ll just keep quiet sa issue pero tignan nalang po natin kung anong magiging turn out, pero sa ngayon they deserve a space,” he answered.
Netizens had varied reactions to Alden’s responses, with some expressing support for his decision to stay silent on the matter, while others questioned if there was any fear or intimidation involved.
