On November 29, Kapuso actress-singer Rita Daniela detailed how she plans to showcase being the ‘Undeniable Star.’

At the media event for ‘Queendom Live,’ which LionhearTV covered, Daniela remarked that she would continue putting her spin on the songs she covers.

“Siguro ever since naman, I think na-express ko naman ‘yung my way of singing. And ever since, hindi talaga ako nag-stick sa kung ano ‘yung original. As much as possible, I really try to make it as my own. Like ‘yung tunog, lalo na ‘yung sa cover, I really try to make the song like my own.

“So I think that’s one way to showcase talaga sa audience namin especially dito sa concert na ‘yun ‘yung way of singing ko talaga, ‘yun ‘yung Rita, ‘yun ‘yung tatak Rita, ‘yun ‘yung totoong Rita Daniela.”

She then emphasized her passion and commitment as an artist.

“I think it’s with my passion with what I’m doing. It’s really important din na you love what you do, because if you don’t, it will really show. And ever since, kasi as perfectionist also, siguro it shows, kasi perfectionist ako, and maraming moments talaga na nafru-frustrate ako sa sarili ko, umiiyak ako, naaasar ako sa sarili ko kasi hindi ko makuha.

“And ako ‘yung taong hindi ako titigil na hangga’t di ko siya makuha kung paano ko siya gustong gawin.”

She also highlighted how her solo performance in ‘Queendom Live’ would show how she leveled up as an artist.

“And I’m so excited kasi, magle-level up pa ko. ‘Yung napanood nila sa previous prods, mas itotodo ko pa sa concert. Sabi ko nga kanina, ‘yung kakantahin ko for my spot, I’ve never sang this song before, and chinallenge ko rin talaga ‘yung sarili ko.

“Mahirap siya, mahirap siya talaga. Pero, kaya tayo nandito, kaya tayo nagkaroon ng concert, kasi ever since, ang Queendom, lahat kami sobrang palaban. Tuwing nagpe-perform kami, lagi kaming ginigive ‘yung all namin na 101%.”

Aside from that, Daniela maintained that she would rather hear from her colleagues about her being an Undeniable Star rather than claim it herself.

“Kasi parang, kapag nag-sagot po ako, baka iba po ‘yung dating. Siguro sasagutin ko na lang siya, kung paano ako nagtatanong ng comments, like kila Hannah, or kila Julie, nagtatanong ako sa kanila like okay ba ‘yung performance ko, okay ba ‘yung ganto, or how do I look.

“As simple as that. And they say, you’re okay just how you are. Siguro ‘yun na lang din ako with who I am, kung sino ako as Rita. Siguro ‘yun na lang po, doon ko po masasabi kung bakit ako Undeniable Star.”

‘Queendom Live’ features Kapuso singers Jessica Villarubin, Mariane Osabel, Thea Astley, Rita Daniela, Hannah Prescillas, and Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose.

Under the direction of Miggy Tanchanco, ‘Queendom Live’ happens on December 2, 8 p.m. at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
