On November 25, Viva actress-writer Quinn Carillo remarked how cautious she is now with her image following her mainstream project.
At the media event for ‘Haslers,’ which LionhearTV covered, director Jose Abdel Langit recounted his conversation with Carillo about toning down her sexy image in their movie.
“May isang eksena kami na it is the finale of the film, noong nag-usap kami ni Quinn, kaagad niyang sinabi sa akin, Direk hindi ako pwedeng magpakita, pinagbabawalan ako, kasi mayroon akong show sa isang TV Network.
“So when we were doing the last scene, eh siya naman ‘yung writer so she knows kung ano ‘yung demand ng role, nakadamit siya, paano ba ‘yun.”
Carillo responded that while she was willing to portray sexy scenes, she valued the opportunities she got with the GMA Network teleserye ‘Asawa ng Asawa Ko.’
So it’s a big opportunity.
“Binago po talaga ni Direk ‘yung execution doon like, full cover, lagi akong naka-long pants, long sleeves, so napag-usapan namin talaga doon, ‘yung vision ni Direk doon is trying to evade ‘yung mga super sexy roles kasi sayang ‘yung opportunity na binigay ni Direk Laurice, para mag-tuloy-tuloy.”
She also addressed the possibility of her career shifting into a filmmaker.
“Right now po, sobrang ini-encourage po akong mag-direk. Sila Boss Vincent, sinabi po nila na we think we need more female directors and female writers. ‘Yun po ‘yung gusto nila for the industry.”
However, she clarified that while she sees herself as a filmmaker in the future, she still has a lot to learn.
So one at a time, at the right time.”
