On November 25, Kapuso actress Marian Rivera said she doesn’t see the pressure of competing in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023.
At the media conference for Ajinomoto’s ‘Aji-Ginisa Veggie-licious movement,’ which LionhearTV covered, Rivera highlighted the benefit of having ten entries in the annual film festival of Filipino movies.
“Ayaw naming magpa-pressure, the mere fact nga na sampu ‘yung entry ngayon, ang saya namin. Kasi sila Direk– Firefly and everybody, ang gaganda, ang gaganda ng mga pelikula ngayon, kaya sana tangkilikin ng mga kapwa natin na manood sila ngayong Pasko.”
She also talked about her excitement about doing a heavy drama movie with her MMFF 2023 movie, Rewind, with her husband, Dingdong Dantes.
“Naku kita ninyo naman, trailer pa lang kaabang-abang na. Feeling ko nga, ito ‘yung isang pelikula talaga na pinaka-hihintay ko na na magawa kasi palagi akong comedy kapag nagpe-pelikula. Parang wala talaga akong heavy drama.
“So this time, isa ‘to sa mga pangarap ko na nagawa ko this year at kasama ko pa ‘yung asawa ko, with Star Cinema, with Alonzos, with 888. So alam mo ‘yun sama-sama kami dito na gusto talaga naming i-offer sa mga tao na pasok na pasok talaga para sa kanila.”
She noted how DongYan fans would appreciate her reunion movie with her husband after 13 years.
“Kasi 13 years kaming hindi nagsama together so ito ‘yung comeback namin. Sa mga DongYan diyan, ito na ‘yung hinihintay nila.”
As for their movie, ‘Rewind’ stars Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes and opens in cinemas during the MMFF 2023 on December 25.
