Actor Eric Fructuoso has come forward to confirm his previous romantic involvement with acclaimed actress and TV host Toni Gonzaga.
The revelation took place during Fructuoso’s guest appearance on the GMA Network’s morning talk show ‘Sarap ‘Di Ba?’ on November 11.
Responding candidly to Carmina Villarroel’s direct inquiry about his past relationship with Gonzaga, Fructuoso stated, “Parang ‘di ko na expect ‘yon ah… Oo, meron,” shedding light on a chapter of his life that unfolded after his association with actress Claudine Barretto.
When probed about the duration of their connection, Fructuoso estimated, “Siguro rough estimate—lahat-lahat kasama na ‘yung wala lang tsaka ‘yung may commitment—mga three, almost three years, mga gano’n.”
This revelation has sparked considerable surprise, particularly because in 2007, Gonzaga publicly declared Paul Soriano as her first and, ideally, only boyfriend, emphasizing a 23-year relationship.
“For 23 years, siya (Soriano) ang first boyfriend ko and hopefully the last. Yung mga naging boyfriend ko, hindi ko actually boyfriend ‘yon. Mas nagiging close lang sa akin na hinu-hope mo na maging boyfriend mo, pero wala. Wala ring tumagal,” Gonzaga answered.
Fructuoso’s disclosure has prompted discussions, leaving fans eager to hear Gonzaga’s perspective on the matter.
Fructuoso clarified that he doesn’t identify as a “chick-boy” and stressed the sincerity of his approach to love. In a lighthearted remark, he humorously suggested that his past relationships concluded when his partners “woke up and realized the truth.”
As of the latest update, Toni Gonzaga, who is currently married to director Paul Soriano, has not publicly addressed Eric Fructuoso’s unexpected revelation.
