Kapamilya actor Christian Bables has voiced his belief that love transcends gender and that everyone has the right to love whomever they choose.
He also candidly admitted that he is not opposed to the idea of engaging in a same-sex relationship.
During a press conference for his upcoming film, ‘Broken Hearts Trip,’ an official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023, Christian Bables addressed the topic of same-sex relationships and offered his perspective on whether love is constrained by gender.
He affirmed, “Walang gender ang love. Ang love ay para sa kahit na kanino. puwede nga siya sa animals, e. I also agree with Direk Andoy (Ranay, kasama niya sa Broken Hearts Trip) that love is for everyone, and for any one. Ayun yata yung isa sa mga libreng bagay…bagay ba siya? O basta libre dito sa mundo na puwede natin ma-enjoy, ang pagmamahal.”
When questioned about his willingness to explore a same-sex relationship, Christian responded without hesitation, “Kung io-open ni God yung heart and mind ko for that, why not? Kapag dumating sa punto na kunwari magbukas yung puso ko, yung isip ko sa ganu’ng klaseng pagmamahal, buong-buong puso ko pong tatanggapin yun.”
Christian emphasized that love is not restricted by gender, and if he were to form a meaningful connection with someone of the same sex, he would be open to the experience.
The cast of ‘Broken Hearts Trip’ is confident that their film appeals not only to LGBTQIA+ community members but to families as well. They believe the movie’s themes of heartbreak are universally relatable and that the diverse storytelling will foster greater understanding of LGBTQIA+ experiences and promote empathy among a wide range of viewers.
‘Broken Hearts Trip,’ directed by Lemuel Lorca, features a cast that includes Iyah Mina, Teejay Marquez, Jaclyn Jose, and others. It is scheduled to be part of the lineup for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023.
