Stand-up comedians MC Muah and Lassy Marquez are still pinching themselves, unable to believe that they have become regular hosts on the popular show ‘It’s Showtime.’
Both comedians never anticipated being a part of the Kapamilya noontime show and were taken aback by the unexpected opportunity. For nearly a year, they have been co-hosting ‘It’s Showtime,’ an engagement initially intended to last just a week.
However, it was soon extended to two weeks. Then came the surprise announcement from Vice Ganda that they would be permanent hosts.
According to MC, Vice Ganda initially informed them that their stint would be for only one week. However, it was later extended to two weeks. Then came the unexpected announcement from Vice Ganda that they would become regular hosts.
Lassy Marquez pointed out that the best part of hosting ‘It’s Showtime’ has been the strong connections they’ve forged with their colleagues on the show. He also commended the generosity and hospitality of their co-hosts.
The show returned to the airwaves last Saturday following a 12-day suspension imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) due to violations committed by the program and some of its hosts.
On the movie front, MC and Lassy, together with Chad Kinis, are set to team up once again for a new Beks Battalion film. Chad Kinis is slated to direct the project, which is expected to hit screens next year. In May, their film ‘Beks Day of Our Lives’ was screened in cinemas.
