On October 25, Director McArthur Alejandre remarked that he accepts and embraces Vivamax’s requirement for the sexy genre.
At the media event for ‘Sila Ay Akin,’ which LionhearTV covered, Alejandre said that he wouldn’t deny the requirements of the Vivamax platform in delivering sexy scenes.
“I did a trailer with the sex scenes that I think is in the Vivamax app, pero noong napanood ko ‘yung trailer na walang sex scenes, parang mas gusto ko siya. Parang mas may punch.
“I will never deny the intent of the platform, noon pa lagi kong sinasabi ‘yan. I embrace it, I accept it, and I will deliver the requirements [of the] platform unapologetically.”
However, he clarified that he won’t compromise with the story of the film or series he’s making for the platform.
“It’s just pagdating sa kwento–I will do it my way. And I’m [very] happy na, I’m always given the freedom by Viva to do it my way. Because alam naman nila na I embrace the platform, I accept [the platform], and I promised them na made-deliver naman.”
He added that he uses sexy sequences to depict different themes in his films.
“How many positions are there in making love or having sex. How many permutations ang missionary position or kung ano man. How can you further enhance it, iba’t iba ba saan ko kukunin, sa ibaba ba or sa itaas. Lahat ‘yan nagde-depend sa kung ano ang kailangan ng role.”
He then cited examples like Silip sa Apoy, Selina’s Gold, and Sila Ay Akin in how he used sexual positions to depict different themes in his films, such as oppression, anti-toxic masculinity, and love.
As for their Vivamax movie, ‘Sila Ay Akin’ stars Angeli Khang and Azi Acosta.
The cast also features Victor Relosa, Vince Rillon, Cess Garcia, Angie Castrence, Gerald Madrid, Chad Alviar, Caira Lee, Vino Gonzales, VJ Vera, GBoy Pablo, and Roni Bertubin.
Under the direction of McArthur Alejandre, ‘Sila Ay Akin’ began streaming via Vivamax starting October 27.
