Finally, after more than a week, GMA Network’s primetime drama series ‘Love Before Sunrise (LBS)’ managed to score a win against its rival ‘Can’t Buy Me Love (CBML).’
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey ratings, LBS has clinched its first triumph over the DonBelle series, which had previously dominated the same time slot.
On Wednesday, October 25, LBS recorded a rating of 7.7 percent, surpassing CBML by 0.3 percent, which stood at 7.4. This victory catapulted LBS to the 7th spot on the ratings chart, while CBML slipped down to the 8th position.
Remarkably, this marks LBS’ first victory against a Kapamilya rival since its premiere on September 25, 2023. Previously, LBS struggled against ‘The Iron Heart’ and later against CBML when the DonBelle series made its debut on Monday, October 16.
Previously, at the start of the current week on Monday, October 23, LBS was initially outperformed by CBML, with ratings of 7.1 percent and 7.7 percent, respectively, securing the 8th and 7th positions on the ratings board.
On the following day, Tuesday, October 24, LBS was still under the dominance of CBML, as CBML posted a rating of 8.0 percent, which was 1.2 percent higher than LBS’ 6.8 percent rating.
Meanwhile, despite LBS managing to surpass CBML in the latest ratings, the Kapamilya romantic-drama series continues to exert its influence in the online sphere, consistently attracting an average peak live concurrent viewership of over 300,000. Additionally, it has retained its status as the number one TV show on Netflix Philippines for the past two weeks.
The question now is whether LBS can maintain its lead in the ratings race against CBML or if CBML will make a swift recovery and reclaim its title as the number one program in the second slot during primetime.
