‘E.A.T.’ host Vic Sotto has swiftly issued an apology in response to a joke made by a guest contestant on their noontime show, which stirred concerns among viewers.
The contestant, who identified as a retired military personnel, humorously explained the reason behind his wife’s perpetual presence in bed, prompting Bossing Vic to select him as the grand daily winner for the ‘Sugod Bahay’ segment.
During the interview with Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, and Zombie, the elderly contestant disclosed that his wife seldom left their room and remained in bed. Inquiring about the rationale behind her behavior, Bossing Vic received a surprising response: “Eh naghihintay na may pumatong!”
Thankfully, the hosts promptly grasped the nature of the remark, understanding that it was all in good humor. The contestant later admitted that it was intended as a light-hearted jest.
Vic was quick to extend his apologies to the public, stating, “Kung anuman ‘yong nabanggit ni Kuya kanina ay huwag n’yo naman bigyan ng malisya. Ito ay kuwento-kuwentuhan lang. Biro-biruan lang. Baka na naman bigyan ninyo ng ibang ibig sabihin, bigyan ng malisya. Eh wala po yon.”
It is important to note that the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has not yet released any official feedback regarding the “lubid” made by Joey De Leon. Meanwhile, ‘It’s Showtime,’ the rival program, has faced a 14-day suspension and has not filed an appeal with the MTRCB.
While rumors suggest that a temporary replacement program titled ‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ is in the works, neither the hosts nor ABS-CBN have confirmed these reports at this time.
