On October 4, Kapamilya stars Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano giddily reacted to Ruffa Gutierrez’s remark about them being the superstars of this generation.
At the media event for ‘Can’t Buy Me Love,’ which LionhearTV covered, Gutierrez mentioned her praise for the DonBelle pairing while discussing her return to an ABS-CBN project.
“I’m also happy to be back as a Kapamilya. My last series was with KathNiel, and now I’m back, Netflix din ‘yun. So ngayon nagbabalik ako, the next coming superstars of this generation ang makakasama ko kaya excited na excited ako. Netflix din.”
Mariano responded to the statement, citing how ‘kilig’ and humble she felt.
“Siyempre kinilig po kami, pero nakakahumble po.”
Pangilinan echoed Mariano’s reply, promising that they would continue to learn.
“Nakakahumble po, pero what’s important is, we will always try [to just learn] as much as we can hopefully with every project, may mabibitbit kaming bagong lesson.”
Gutierrez left a piece of advice for the young Kapamilya love team about working well with their co-stars and the production.
“Well, I’ve known Donny since he was a kid. I’m good friends with Maricel and Anthony Pangilinan. I just met Belle, but I can see that they’re both very [professional,] and they love their craft.
“Ang ma-advice ko lang, [if you want to stay in the industry]–it’s not just about being mahusay in your craft. I think kailangan marunong ka din makisama which is nakikita ko sa kanila. Kasi, you may not be the best actor [or] the best actress, but if you’re easy to work with, they will always get you for future roles.”
