ABS-CBN announced on Friday, October 6, that it will not be appealing the 12-airing days suspension of ‘It’s Showtime’ to the Office of the President (OP).
This decision follows the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board’s (MTRCB) dismissal of motions for reconsideration submitted by the program.
“After careful consideration, ABS-CBN has decided not to appeal to the Office of the President the decision of the MTRCB on ‘It’s Showtime’ and instead serve the 12-day suspension starting October 14,” ABS-CBN stated.
While respecting the authority of the MTRCB, ABS-CBN maintained its position that the program did not violate any relevant laws.
The network also expressed gratitude to its viewers for their unwavering love and support for ‘It’s Showtime.’ The show is set to return on October 28, promising to come back stronger and better than ever.

The MTRCB imposed a 12-airing days suspension on the noontime show in response to complaints received regarding a segment in which Vice Ganda and Ion Perez were seen eating cake icing during the ‘Isip Bata’ segment in July.
