On October 2, Kapamilya star Paulo Avelino reacted to Direk FM Reyes calling him the best actor of his generation.
At the media event for ‘Linlang,’ which LionhearTV covered, director Reyes praised how Avelino invested his time in his role in the Prime Video series.
“Paulo, I think he is really–how I should say this, the best actor of his generation. It’s my first time to work with him and the investment he gave from–the script says, tinatanong si–parang there’s another character na in a sense na naki-apid ‘yung asawa niya.”
He also highlighted Avelino’s commitment to his role, especially with the intense body transformations required by his character.
“And the argument was kasi napabayaan ‘yung katawan. Lahat ‘yun ni-reflect ni Paolo siya sa scene. And then after a portion of it, we had to stop kasi in two weeks time he has to change again physically, eh hindi po madali ‘yung ginagawa. And I was so afraid for him, kasi sa hirap ng shino-shoot namin, baka mamaya mag-collapse siya.”
Avelino humbly responded to Reyes’ praise of his commitment as an actor.
“Malamang hindi siguro totoo, but I always try to give my all when I find a project–when I fall in love with the project.”
He also cited his concern about making the production process easier for the cast and crew of the series.
“And, part of that maybe, kaya siguro marami rin siguro nagagalit sa akin dahil all I do is to make sure the project is beautiful. And it’s not just my character–it’s not just me, but everyone around me. The technical, the reactors, the production, the working conditions, I want to make sure na it breezes through and parang it’s everyone at the end of the day, gusto ko maganda ‘yung kakalabasan ng produkto.”
He also highlighted the effort the team behind ‘Linlang’ put into the series and their commitment to creating a quality story.
“But a big part of everything that we’ve done also, not just because of us, actors, but also because of the effort our directors gave, non-stop script revisions, non-stop talking to the writers, trying to change scenes to improve, these are the sort of things that hindi karaniwan na nalalaman at nakikita ng mga tao–but the production and the people behind this show, worked equally as hard as us.”
