On September 21, Maricel Laxa Pangilinan and Anthony Pangilinan discussed their views on being stage parents to their children.
At the media event for their upcoming film, ‘GG (Good Game),’ which LionhearTV covered, Maricel admittedly considered herself a ‘stage parent.’
She then recounted how she initially expressed concern about Donny’s interest in joining showbiz.
However, Maricel affirmed her support for their child.
“150% we’re behind him, we’re with him.
And from the beginning, naniniwala kami na kakailanganin niya talaga ng suporta. And when he says something like, ‘The glory is his,’ malaking bagay ‘yun eh, hindi biro ‘yun. So kinakailangan niya ng stage parents.”
Anthony noted his reminders to his kids about pursuing careers in the entertainment industry.
“Alam nila kung ano ‘yung gusto nila eh. Hannah [and] Donny, kailangan gabayan mo lang.
I mean those are probably the three most important things for our talent kids.”
He further explained the benefits of his reminders to his kids about reading contracts and being punctual and professional.
Apart from that, they really take controls with their careers and their lives. And so far they’re doing a good job.”
Donny addressed his parents’ statement, noting that while they provided guidance, he was old enough to set boundaries.
#DonnyPangilinan #MaricelLaxa #AnthonyPangilinan #TiktokTainmentPH #EntertainmentNewsPH #LionhearTV #RAWRNation
“Well, they know naman when to put their put down but [to also] let me live my life– [be]cause I am 25 years old. I’m no longer a child, and I think that I’ve learned a lot [as well.] And I don’t think [that]] I would ever reach the point na masasabi ko rin na perfect ako [or] whatever. I would make mistakes, but they are there to guide me. And they also know their boundaries, and that’s very important.”
