On September 20, Diamond Star Maricel Soriano remarked about being done with her ‘Taray Queen’ image.
At the media event for ‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso,’ which LionhearTV covered, Soriano said she wanted to focus on being happy instead of her image.
“Oo, tsaka tapos na ‘yan, dapat ngayon masaya na tayo.”
She then recounted where her ‘Taray Queen’ monicker came from, citing that it was from her straightforward answers to the press when she started in showbiz.
“Noong araw kasi, diretso ako, kausap ko ano– oo diretso ako ng sagot, kaya sabi nila, ay mataray ang babae na ‘to. Kaya sabi ko, bakit kaya ako tinawag na mataray eh sinabi ko lang naman ‘yung totoo. Sasagot ka pa lang, mataray ka na.
“Hindi ko alam. Sinabihan na lang ako ng ganon. Sabi ko, ‘Ganon? Ganon?'”
Aside from her image, Soriano revealed her dream role of taking on a ‘bida-kontrabida’ character in future projects.
“Gusto ko naman ng parang ano– parang Bida-Kontrabida, para maiba lang. Hindi iba ‘yun eh, kailangan mas bad, pero kailangan may redeeming factor. Kailangan may rason bakit, anong rason ‘yan bakit ganon.”
As for the series, the Diamond Star joins the cast of ‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso’ for the series’ new season.
The teleserye features Elisse Joson, Loisa Andalio, Alexa Ilacad, and Charlie Dizon.
The cast includes Joseph Marco, Ronnie Alonte, KD Estrada, Markus Paterson, Sunshine Dizon, Art Acuña, Epy Quizon, and Snooky Serna.
Catch the new season of ‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso,’ under the direction of Raymund B Ocampo, airs from Monday through Friday at 3 PM and on Saturdays at 2:30 PM, via Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC.
